By officially announcing the extension of the application deadline in its colossal 2026 hiring spurt, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has brought a wave of relief to thousands of job seekers across Pakistan. The new deadline of the 1,394 vacant positions is now May 11, 2026, a time it was originally supposed to close earlier. The extension gives the eligible candidates a last chance to be part of one of the most prestigious law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the country.
Overview of Vacancies in FIA 2026
The active recruitment stage has a broad scope of positions between BPS-01 and BPS-15. These posts are spread on different wings, such as Anti-Corruption, Cybercrime, and Counter-Terrorism. Key positions include:
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI)
Constable
Sub-Inspector (Investigation)
Stenotypist & Upper/Lower Division Clerks (UDC/LDC)
Staff Car Drivers and Naib Qasid
Since the educational needs range between Primary and Matriculation to Graduate levels, this initiative will seek to exploit the huge talent pool of the youth in Pakistan.
Step-by-Step Guide to Submitting Your Application
The FIA has simplified it using a special online portal. To have a successful application by the May 11 deadline, do the following:
Go to the Portal: Go to the official FIA recruitment site at https://npftas.pk/.
Create an Account: Sign up with your valid CNIC number and personal email address.
Complete Profile: Fill your own information, permanent address, mailing address, full educational history.
Upload Documents: You will be required to have a scanned copy of your CNIC and a recent passport-sized picture (with a blue or white background).
Select the Post: Select the particular post that you are applying for. It is important to note that you can apply to several posts, however, in different grades, you may need to make separate applications.
Final Submission: Check all fields to ensure they are accurate and then, click on Submit. At this point, no physical documents should be sent to the FIA headquarters.
Physical and Eligibility Standards
To apply to uniformed positions, (Constable and ASI), individuals are required to have a set of physical standards:
Height: 5′ 6″ for men and 5′ 4″ for women.
Chest (Men only): 32.5″ to 34″.
Endurance Test: Candidates will be tested on a 1-mile run with a 7 minutes (Men) or 10 minutes (Women) time limit.
Why was the Deadline Extended?
This was because the amount of traffic on the official servers was overwhelming and this led to technical glitches on many users. The Ministry of Interior also allowed more time to allow bonafide candidates to register, due to public holidays and requests in remote areas where there is limited internet access.
