If you have got a new mobile in Pakistan or if you are planning to run an imported mobile, the PTA mobile registration tax needs to be paid before the mobile can be declared legal through recognition. This is a quite simple step wise process.

4 Steps to Pay PTA Tax Online

    Step 1: Register onto DIRBS

The first step is to create an account on the Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) website. Visit the DIRBS website and click on ‘Register’. Provide your personal information such as CNIC/NICOP number and also contact values. Assign a password and verify the account through SMS or email.

    Step 2: Go for COC

Upon completing your registration, you can apply for an FCC Certificate of Compliance (COC). This is a document developing PTA compliance. Login into DIRBS under the Application section, enter the IMEI number, brand name and model of your device.

    Step 3: Submit IMEI

Every mobile device has a separate IMEI. You can easily check the IMEI of your device by just dialing *#06#. You may also check it from settings.

Step 4: Pay PTA Mobile Tax

With the Certificate of Compliance in hand, it is time to pay the mobile tax online. This can be done using ATM machines and mobile wallets like EasyPaisa, JazzCash and HBL Mobile. Follow the instructions according to your chosen mode of transactions.

After all is done, your mobile phone will be duly registered and can fit in very well to be used in Pakistan.
