Pakistan has announced strong T20I and ODI squads to their subsequent home series and Babar Azam and Naseem Shah have returned to the squad as it begins to prepare to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The former captain and speedy bowler, Babar Azam is also rejoining the T20I team as he has not participated in the recent series of the West Indies and the Asia cup. Pacer Haris Rauf is also called in the ODI team together with Faisal Akram and Haseebullah.The series of five matches against South Africa will be the first time to see Pakistan under its new captain Shaheen Shah Afridi who will replace Babar as the captain of the 50 Over series.
Upcoming Home Fixtures
The home schedule of cricketing will be hectic in Pakistan. The first country will be South Africa and indeed the team will have six white-ball matches (three T20s, three ODIs), after which there will be three ODI matches in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan will then have one T20I Tri-Series with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
