Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, the chairman of the Youth Programme of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has declared a significant education project to assist the students in Pakistan by means of technology.
In a ceremony at Islamabad, he stated that the empowerment of youth was among the highest priorities of the government, and digital education is the main solution to equip students to meet the demands of the future.
Google Chromebooks will be provided to 700,000 students admitted in schools, colleges, and universities across the country under the Prime Minister Youth Programme.
Rana Mashood disclosed that the devices are being provided by TIF Foundation Lahore and this will contribute to making online learning stronger and also to access to modern educational tools.
He said that these Chromebooks will enable digital learning, research, and creative learning.
According to the chairman, the distribution of Prime Ministers Youth Programme Chromebooks will be done in phases so that the distribution can be transparent and allotted fairly.
The usage and learning outcomes will be monitored through a national monitoring system, which will provide effective classroom and remote education.
Rana Mashood observed that the project of the Youth Programme of the Prime Minister on the Chromebooks will be useful in bridging the digital divide between the urban and rural students. Students in Azar Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will receive the benefit as well.
He also mentioned that greater confidence levels among overseas Pakistanis are supporting the growth of investment in education and skills building, and allowing youth to get new opportunities.
In his concluding remarks, Rana Mashhood stated that the Youth Programme Chromebooks by the Prime Minister is a long term investment by the government of Pakistan in modernising education and empowering the youth in Pakistan through technological means.
