To revive the holiday mood of this province, the Basant 2026 anthem, named Phir Aai Basant (Basant is Back) has been officially released by the Punjab Government. The anthem, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, also seeks to create a less aggressive and more festive image of Punjab since the historic festival is being restored.
The song is sung by the acclaimed Sialkot-based singer cum composer Bilal Saeed and released by the Information and Culture Department, its release feels the energy and the vibrancy of this season.

The music video is a visual treat set against the backdrop of Old Lahore and the iconic Picture Wall of the Lahore Fort. It stars model cum actor Nabeel Zubair with renowned food blogger Ali Rehman.
The dancers are seen in vivid colours (yellow color of spring), and the video recreates the classic atmosphere of the festival. The caption in the official Instagram of Alhamra Lahore says:
“Most awaited sound of the season, anthem ‘Phir Aai Basant’ is now live… Your rooftop deserves this volume.”
Unlike typical festive songs, ‘Phir Aai Basant’ carries a strong civic message embedded in its lyrics. The government has used the medium to warn against dangerous practices.
- Safety Warning: One line explicitly warns that anyone flouting the rules will be taken to the police station.
- Civic Duty: The lyrics remind citizens to “Celebrate the festival while acting responsibly” (poora hokar zimedaar manana tehvaar).
