    Pakistan to Observe Earth Hour 2026 Tomorrow

    Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given official instructions to the authorities in Pakistan to celebrate Earth Hour 2026. Under this international environmental project, non-essential lights will be turned off all over the country to create awareness on energy conservation and climate.

    Earth Hour Official Schedule and Theme

    According to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the symbolic switch-off will take place over the weekend.

    Earth Hour Nationwide Government Participation

    In order to promote large-scale participation, the Prime Minister has given directives to all the federal ministries, divisions, provincial governments and the public institutions. They have been instructed to join the world-wide campaign by ensuring that they switch off the needless lighting in the government buildings and offices within the allotted time.

    The project greatly motivates everyone, family and individual organizations within Pakistan to participate in and devote one hour towards activities that foster environmental conservation and energy saving.

    The Global Significance of Earth Hour

    Earth Hour is a huge international campaign which was initially initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2007. It is currently present in over 190 countries and territories across the world.

    The switching off of non-essential lights is known as a symbolic one that takes place on the annual campaign as the governments, non-government institutions, and millions of households are involved at once. The year is especially political because it is the 20 th anniversary of the initiative, and it adds a fresh emphasis to the need to advance accessible measures to sustainability, safeguard biodiversity, and take unplanned action on climate.

    Earth Hour will be observed across Pakistan on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The symbolic switching off of lights will take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time.
