Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min has confirmed his departure after 10 memorable years at the club. The South Korean footballer made the announcement during a press conference in Seoul on Saturday during Spurs’ pre-season tour of Asia.
He called it “the most difficult decision I have made in my career”. Reflecting on his journey, the 33-year-old said: “I came to north London as a kid at 23.” He is exiting Tottenham Hotspur as a really experienced and incredibly performing star.
Though Son Heung-min’s contract runs until 2026, he is departing the club on a high after a historic season. He is expected to be part of matches during the Asia tour and possibly in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain on August 13 in Italy.

If reports are to be taken into consideration, Son Heung-min is close to joining MLS side Los Angeles FC, marking an incredible beginning of another important chapter in his career. He is leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
