The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is preparing to introduce a major technological upgrade to Pakistan’s immigration system through the FIA Immigration Mobile App Pakistan. According to Mustafa Hameed Malik, Director of the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS), Pakistan’s border management has been improving with new technology and better coordination between institutions. He explained that FIA is now moving toward a digital system that will reduce human involvement and increase automation.
One of the biggest developments is the installation of electronic e-gates at airports. These gates will allow eligible passengers to complete the immigration process by simply scanning their passports. Their data will automatically be verified by the system, and the entire clearance process is expected to take around 10 seconds.
