It became a place of energy and excitement as over 5,000 runners participated in the Milo Islamabad Marathon 2026 and it was a fantastic fitness day in the federal capital. The event attracted participants of more than 30 nations and was one of the most international and vibrant sporting events in Pakistan.
The marathon demonstrated how running and endurance sports are becoming popular in Pakistan and people of various backgrounds are united in a healthy cause.
International Runners Light Up the Capital
The race took the well-known path of Islamabad, F-9 park to D-Chowk; men and women runners were lined up at the same starting point. This was a powerful message of cohesion and belonging and it was a wonderful day to fitness to all those who were viewing and competing.
The countries where athletes represented included Pakistan, China, UK, USA, Italy, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, France, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Switzerland, Spain, etc. Their participation made the marathon have international flavour and assisted in marketing Pakistan as a sports event destination.
Winners of Islamabad Marathon 2026
Several races were held during the event, including Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10KM, and 5KM categories for both men and women.
In the Full Marathon (Men), Sher Khan took first place, followed by Israr Khattak and Sajjad Ahmed.
In the Full Marathon (Women), Salatant Simpina from Kazakhstan won, with Maria Pia from Italy second and Ayesha Mastoor Butt third.
In the Half Marathon (Men), Muhammad Saleem secured first place, while Shehbaz Masih and Muhammad Irfan followed.
In the Half Marathon (Women), Pakistan’s Saadia Maqbool finished first, followed by Elizabeth Hesse from the USA and Marta Pedila from Spain.
In the 10KM (Men), Muhammad Riaz won, with Atiq ur Rehman second and Umar Zaman third.
In the 10KM (Women), Mahnur Afzal claimed first place, followed by Ayesha Maryam and Tooba Rani.
In the 5KM (Men), Muhammad Akhtar won, followed by Samiullah and Muhammad Ibrahim Sami.
In the 5KM (Women), Aram Shehzadi secured first, with Bisma Batool second and Sydney of Germany third.Because of these achievements, it was a great day for fitness and sports lovers.
