Another important move has been done by the Sindh government, which has been keen to revive cultural tourism and officially opened the Mohenjo-Daro Train Safari. It is an exclusive performance, and this gives a guided tour of Karachi to the lowest limit of Pakistan civilization.
The special train that was flagged off by the Provincial Culture and Tourism Minister, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah on Saturday, January 31, 2026, carried more than 100 passengers.
Mohenjo-Daro Train Safari World
The safari is planned as a round trip two day tour to offer a full tour of Sindh without the problem of planning logistics.
The Route: The train left Karachi on Saturday morning and passed through Sehwan, Dadu and Rohri reaching Larkana in the middle of the night at approximately 10:00 PM on Saturday night.
The Experience: The tourists will spend their Sunday morning at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mohenjo-Daro. The tourist package would involve a detailed guided visit of the archeological ruins and the museum.
The Return: On Sunday night, the trip is completed with a visit to Karachi.

Overwhelming Public Response
Managing Director of STDC, Feyaz Ali Shah, described the move as a historic move as this is the first dedicated tourist train to be introduced exclusively on the Karachi-Larkana-Mohenjo-Daro line.
Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah highlighted the immense public interest, stating:
“We continued receiving applications late into Friday night, which is why we had to add an extra coach. This is evidence of growing public interest in exploring Sindh.”
