It has been reported that the Punjab government has taken a giant step of empowering the women entrepreneurs and skilled workers in the province in terms of finance. Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Punjab Minister of Industry and Commerce has declared the launch of new interest free loan programme by Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) within the course of next two months.
The program is expected to remove economic barriers in women, particularly in small cities and their participation in the national economy.

Punjab Interest-Free Loan Scheme Eligibility Criteria
In line with the announcement by the minister, the scheme is specifically focused on two major groups of women to make sure that those with the skills and training to succeed get the funds:
Women Business Incubation Center graduates: Women who have attended or incubated at a government-identified center.
Skilled Artisans: Women are those who have certain technical skills or artistic knowledge of crafts but do not have the capital to begin their own business.
Location Focus: As open as it is to the province, the government has specifically paid special attention to the quest to support entrepreneurs in smaller cities to facilitate inclusive growth.
How to Apply Punjab Interest-Free Loan Scheme
The specific application forms and online portals have not been published yet since the scheme is set to officially commence within the next two months. The process, however, according to the announcement, will take the structure of the following:
Step 1: Registration: The applicants are likely to be required to be registered at the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) or their local Women Business Incubation Center.
Step 2: Proof of Skill/Graduation: Candidates will present their graduation certificates by an incubation center or demonstrate their technical skills (in the case of artisans).
Step 3: Business Plan: The applicants might be required to provide a rough proposal on how they plan to utilise the 500,000 (e.g., purchasing machinery, raw material or setting up a shop).
