In case you are about to visit Saudi Arabia to complete Umrah in the near future, the clock is literally starting to run. The Saudi ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recently announced the last submission dates of visa, entry and compulsory departure before the next Hajj season.
In their recent virtual meeting with the Umrah travel companies, Saudi officials not only dictated the rigid schedule that each pilgrim should follow, but also gave a stern warning: you simply cannot do Hajj with an Umrah visa.
This is all about the new deadlines and how Pakistan is revving its own Hajj preparations to 2026.
The Strict Umrah Deadlines You Need to Know
In order to ensure that the colossal arrival of tourists is controlled ahead of the commencement of Hajj, the Saudi government has established three hard deadlines to all the Umrah pilgrims:
Final Deadline to take out Visas: The latest deadline to purchase your Umrah visa is the 1st Shawwal (1 st day Eid al-Fitr).
Final Date of Entering: You have to enter into the Kingdom before the 15 th of Shawwal in case you have your visa.
Mandatory Departure: All individual Umrah travelers will be required to clear and vacate Saudi Arabia by the 1 st of Dhul-Qadah to accommodate arriving Hajj pilgrims.
Pakistan’s Hajj 2026 Preparations Are on Track
The Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan is already making preparations for Hajj 2026, back home. Although there are some concerns over international travel, a spokesperson of the ministry asserted that things were moving at a fast rate.
The Pakistan Hajj visa is already on the pipeline and the Hajj flight schedule will be announced immediately after the Eid al-Fitr. In the meantime, the government is already shutting down accommodation and other key facilities in Makkah and Madinah.
One speedy caution to the applicants, though, in order to eliminate the risk of fraud, the ministry resolutely advises all prospective pilgrims to verify their position solely via credible channels, such as the Pak Hajj App or the authentic ministry site.
A Massive Shakeup in the Hajj Quota
The largest local news of this year is the colossal change in the division of Hajj quota. The federal cabinet wanted to reverse the script after a catastrophic season of 2025 (when more than 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims had failed to perform Hajj because of shocking mismanagement by private tour operators).
The government has fallen back to control under the new Hajj Policy 2026 that guarantees greater transparency and scrutiny:
Government Hajj Scheme: Has been allocated an enormous 70 percent of the total quota.
Private Tour Operators: Slashed down to only 30 percent of the quota.
Considering that last year was 50/50 and this year is a huge difference towards the 50/50, it will be seen that more pilgrims will now be traveling under the direct supervision of the government scheme.
