The humanitarian sector saw a major breakthrough in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) renewing its support of the Palestinian people. At the directives of its rulers, a humanitarian flight recently landed in Al Arish, Egypt, with 100 tonnes of food. The flight is part of the “Humaid Air Bridge”, which is a critical element of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 (also known as Gallant Knight 3) to help address the humanitarian emergency of food shortages in the Gaza Strip.
The flight is another humanitarian aid delivery by the UAE. With the ongoing crisis in Gaza, Emirates News Agency (WAM) has reported the cargo of 3,300 food parcels will help sustain the families’ immediate food needs. The air bridge is not only a humanitarian relief but a humanitarian gesture from the region to the Palestinian people in distress.

Humaid Air Bridge: Streamlining Aid via Al Arish
The air bridge is based in the Egyptian Al Arish. The UAE humanitarian delegation was waiting for the aircraft upon arrival and immediately started unloading to the UAE Humanitarian Logistics Centre (HLC).
The speed of the Humaid Air Bridge guarantees that:
Fast Unloading: Goods are quickly transported from the runway to cold storage.
Authorised Channels: Supplies are readied for import into Gaza via official channels to ensure timely distribution to those in need.
Last-Mile Delivery: The aim is to provide food security for families whose access to markets has been disrupted.
Operation Chivalrous Knight 3: A Comprehensive Humanitarian Strategy
Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 is a multi-dimensional initiative, which uses air, land and sea transport to flood the region with aid. So far several tonnes of medical equipment, construction materials and food have been delivered.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the operation has three components:
Food Assistance: Regular food packages to prevent malnutrition.
Health Care: Setting up field hospitals, and supplying life-saving medication.

Impact on Gaza’s Food Security
In an increasingly vulnerable and unpredictable world, the 100 tonnes of cargo is so important. These 3,300 parcels are food, but also life for 16,000-20,000 people, averting famine. The UAE has stated it will continue to provide humanitarian aid until the situation in Gaza is no longer a humanitarian crisis.
