In a major administrative breakthrough aimed at digitizing public services, boosting fiscal transparency, and expanding the regional tax net, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority has officially launched its new mobile application, KPRA Sahulat, on the Google Play Store.
The automated digital tool transitions traditional, manual tax tracking into a fast-tracked, secure interface for taxpayers, business managers, and citizens alike. According to official briefings from KPRA management, the Android application is available completely free of charge, while a specialized iOS version is currently undergoing final quality checks before its immediate release on Apple’s App Store.
Real-Time QR Code Invoice Scanning and Anti-Fraud Reporting
The core operational feature of the new application is its ability to perform instantaneous verification of sales tax invoices. This functionality shifts regulatory oversight directly into the hands of daily consumers, protecting them from predatory billing practices.
The application’s multi-tasking framework deploys three high-utility citizen compliance tools:
Instant QR Code Verification: Consumers can immediately scan the QR code printed on restaurant or retail store receipts to cross-reference the transaction directly against the live state revenue database.
Grievance Redressal and Fraud Reporting: If a sales invoice shows up as unverified, suspicious, or counterfeit during scanning, citizens can instantly file an official complaint via the secure portal.
National Tax Number Registry Auditing: Users can input a commercial enterprise’s National Tax Number to instantly verify whether the business is officially registered with the provincial authority.
Interactive Tax Calculators and Offline Schedule-II Access
To support financial literacy and help businesses maintain absolute tax compliance, the ICT development team has built several interactive financial calculators directly into the application. Taxpayers can leverage these tools to calculate precise applicable sales tax volumes in seconds.
To safeguard user experience in areas with unstable internet connectivity, the application enables taxpayers to access Schedule-II tax rates completely offline. Furthermore, a live tax calendar is integrated into the system to automatically broadcast digital alerts regarding upcoming return filing deadlines, preventing late fees and compliance friction.
Transitioning Toward Digitally Transparent Governance Models
Speaking on the launch of the mobile portal, KPRA Director General Irum Naz verified that the application forms an integral part of the provincial government’s overarching agenda to improve public service delivery. She noted that the platform successfully removes manual administrative loops, making state services highly accessible and transparent.
The Director General credited Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam and Finance Secretary Captain Kamran Ahmad Afridi (retd) for their continuous strategic oversight, highlighting that the entire software infrastructure was conceptualized and developed entirely in-house by KPRA’s ICT team.
