The Punjab government has officially launched Phase II of the CM Honorarium Card registration process for mosque imams. Under this program, registered imams will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 25,000 to support their financial needs and recognize their services.

The Punjab Ministry of Religious Affairs decided to cover the areas that were not covered during the first phase. Phase II will now address other remaining divisions, districts, cities and tehsils in Punjab including all six districts of the Rawalpindi Division.

More Imams to Benefit from CM Honorarium Card

Officials said the main purpose of Phase II is to ensure that all eligible mosque imams are registered and can receive the honorarium without any difficulty. Many imams were unable to join earlier due to incomplete coverage, which is now being corrected.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently announced that payments under the CM Honorarium Card scheme will begin from next month. She shared this while speaking at a card distribution ceremony in Lahore.

According to the chief minister, imams from around 70,000 registered mosques will get Rs.25,000 every month through designated cards. The program is expected to cost the provincial government nearly Rs.20 billion annually.

She also disclosed that the bank of Punjab imams already have bank accounts opened with them. There are more than 80, 000 mosques of various denominations in Punjab and almost 70,000 registration forms were already received.

The CM Honorarium Card initiative aims to provide respect, stability, and financial relief to mosque imams across the province.
