Free Lunch Program for Govt Schools initiatives have been officially approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to counter nutritional deficiencies among young students. The directive was issued during a strategic huddle focused on uplifting state-run academic frameworks in the federal capital. The premier tasked Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal with implementing these wide-ranging structural upgrades within an accelerated timeframe.

    Digital Upgrades and Classroom Modernization

To overhaul old learning models, the prime minister instructed authorities to implement modern technology across all classrooms. The government will install digital smart boards across all capital institutions as soon as possible to make interactive learning accessible. Furthermore, a comprehensive administrative restructuring plan is underway to transform the Federal Directorate of Education into a highly efficient supervisory institution.

    Staff Merit and Infrastructure Overhauls

The state package outlines major realignments regarding facility maintenance, operational logistics, and inclusion:

Academic Focus: Government school teachers will be strictly barred from performing unrelated public duties, keeping their focus entirely on teaching.

Merit-Based Hiring: All upcoming teacher recruitments must take place through transparent, merit-driven evaluation pipelines.

Inclusive Facilities: The administration will establish clean solar energy systems and mandatory mobility ramps for students with physical disabilities.

To improve student attendance, the prime minister also ordered the expansion and partial outsourcing of the capital’s public school bus service, which currently operates a fleet of 278 active buses.
