    FAQs

    When exactly does Sehri end?

Subh-e-Sadiq (true dawn) is the end of Sehri. You are not supposed to eat and drink at all before this very time even before the Fajr Azaan is called.

At what time should Iftar be taken?

The Iftar starts at sunset (Maghrib). The variation in the time is a minute or two every day as the position of the sun changes over the month.

Is this calendar universal to all the sects?

This particular calendar is computed using Fiqh Hanafi (Sunni). In the case of Fiqh Jafaria (Shia), Sehri normally stops 3 to 5 minutes before, and Iftar starts 10 to 12 minutes.

Is this schedule applicable to other local cities?

A city-specific calendar is preferable to use. There is a 1 to 3 minutes variation in the time of sunrise and sunset between two cities which are close to each other but differ in their geographical position.
