As the long awaited HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) X begins today in Rawalpindi, security in and around the city has been on high alert . Strict and foolproof measures have been taken by the police department. About 5,000 police officers are being deployed to maintain safety for the duration of the tournament, according to a police spokesperson.

The first match of PSL season 10 will begin on Thursday between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium followed by a grand opening ceremony. The six team tournament will be held from April 11 to May 18. The tournament comprises a total of 34 matches to be played in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi.
