Samsung has officially started preparing the rollout of One UI 8, its next major software update built on Android 16. The new interface delivers a mix of AI-powered features, enhanced personalization, refined visuals, and stronger privacy tools. It is designed to make everyday Galaxy use smoother, faster, and more intuitive.
What is One UI 8?
One UI 8 is the latest version of Samsung’s custom interface. It comes preloaded on the newest Galaxy flagships such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, Galaxy S25 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S11 series.
Key highlights of One UI 8 include:
- AI-enhanced productivity: Summaries at a glance, pop-up windows you can resize, and easy drag-and-drop functions.
- Smarter multitasking: Optimized for foldables with a cover screen that offers widgets, the Now Bar, and quick access to alerts.
- AI-powered photo editing: Transform pets into studio portraits, create artistic edits like oil paintings, or use generative tools with side-by-side previews.
- Gemini Live integration: Talk naturally with Google Gemini, ask questions about real-world objects through the camera, and get real-time answers.

One UI 8 Release Roadmap
Samsung will roll out One UI 8 in phases, beginning in mid-September 2025. The stable update will gradually reach S series, Z series, A series, M series, XCover, Tab, and Watch models.
