A big development for the South Asian cricket fraternity has been the confirmation by the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons of the presence of the best leg-spinner in Pakistan, Shadab Khan and the sensational young left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem in the 2026 season.
As per the official league news, the lethal Pakistani spin duo will power the Falcons’ bowling attack in the opening seven matches of the tournament. They help make the Antigua-based franchise one of the most potent spin units in the contest, with the competition’s generally slow and turning tracks that are dotted around the Caribbean islands.

Sufiyan Muqeem: The new rising star in Pakistan’s domestic circuit. The young Chinaman bowler also made his PSL 2026 tally so far by producing outstanding wrist spin deliveries in the tournament, grabbing the Player of the Tournament accolade for Peshawar Zalmi. He will be a big headache for Caribbean batters, particularly the left arm, which he will bowl at an angle.

In recent times, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed stringent rules for the nationally contracted and aspiring players to give preference to domestic matches so they can be considered for international selection. It is still unclear how soon the PCB will be issuing the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for Shadab and Sufiyan as they are only contracted for the first seven matches of the CPL.
Franchise officials are still hopeful of a compromise that will see the players complete their short stint in the Caribbean before going home for their own responsibilities.
