The Government of Punjab has officially declared the six-month extension of its flagship free solar panel scheme in a significant step to give relief to electricity consumers. The program will now continue until the year-end under the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to cater to an unbelievable influx of public interest.
The program, which aims at fighting the increasing energy prices among the poor families, has had its budget and geographic coverage extended to include more families in the province.
Solar Panel Scheme New Deadline and Budget
The deadline of the free solar panel scheme was originally planned to end in June 2026 but it has been extended until December 2026. The provincial government has set up a budget of almost Rs. to finance this extension. 10 billion extra funding.
