The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has launched a highly beneficial initiative aimed at boosting higher education and providing Pakistani scholars access to world-class academic institutions. Exceptional graduates who dream of pursuing a PhD at top-ranked universities in the United States can now apply for the subsidized HEC GRE training program (Talent Farming). This specialized training operates under the umbrella of the “US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor,” designed to prepare students for the rigorous Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
Introduction to the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship
Securing admission and funding at premier US universities heavily relies on a competitive GRE General Test score. To ease the financial and preparatory burden on aspiring researchers, HEC offers a heavily subsidized 40-hour comprehensive preparation course. While the government covers the vast majority of the actual training cost, shortlisted candidates are only required to pay a nominal registration token of PKR 2,500.

Core Benefits of the HEC GRE Training Program
Enrolling in this official talent farming cohort offers students several distinct academic and financial advantages:
- Expert Instruction: The 40-hour curriculum focuses on analytical writing, quantitative reasoning, and verbal skills. It is delivered online or at key physical hubs by certified trainers approved by the United States Education Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).
- Test Fee Reimbursement: Trainees who complete the preparation course and score 300 or higher on the official ETS GRE exam become eligible for a full or partial reimbursement of their test fee from HEC.
- Gateway to Fully Funded PhDs: A validated score above the 300 threshold places candidates in a prime position to apply for fully funded HEC scholarships at top-100 QS-ranked US universities.
