Before using any mobile phone in Pakistan, it is very important for you to check if your device is PTA approved or not. If any of your phone is not registered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) then it can be blocked after some time and will not work on local networks. In this article, I will tell you how to verify the PTA approval status of your mobile phone.

    Check PTA Approval via SMS

    • Open the dialer on your mobile phone.
    • Dial *#06# to get your IMEI number.
    • You can also find the IMEI number in your phone by going to:
Settings > About Phone > IMEI
    • Send your IMEI number via SMS to 8484.
    • In a few seconds you will receive a message from PTA confirming whether your device is:
      • PTA Approved
      • Non-compliant
      • PTA Registered
      • Or Blocked

Check PTA approval Using PTA Website (DIRBS Portal)

PTA has launched an official online platform called DIRBS (Device Identification Registration and Blocking System) that allows you to verify the status of your phone online.

    • Visit the official PTA DIRBS website:
    • Enter your IMEI number in the box.
    • Click on the Check button.
    • You will see the status of your mobile phone whether it is PTA approved or not.

Check PTA approval via  Mobile App

PTA also offers a mobile application called DVS (Device Verification System) or DIRBS PTA app that is available on Google Play Store.

    • Download the app by searching DIRBS PTA or DVS PTA on Play Store.
    • Open the app and enter your IMEI number.
    • The app will instantly show you the registration status of your device.
