In a major development for municipal transport infrastructure tracking, urban corridor planning and public sector logistics optimization the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has finalized a structural blueprint to modify a primary grid artery. Formally announced by KMC Director General of Engineering Tariq Mughal on October 16, 2026 the real time engineering intervention targets the elimination of two active traffic signals along Shahra-e-Quaideen to significantly accelerate vehicle velocity parameters.
The civil engineering intervention compresses manual delay times by introducing two pre-vetted high capacity U-turns. The first structural modification will be directly in front of Allah Wali Chowrangi and the secondary turning loop will be opened between Allah Wali Chowrangi and Noorani Chowrangi. Such geometric changes will provide an uninterrupted traffic free corridor up to the Society Office which will help the thousands of people traveling every day from Shahra-e-Faisal towards Mazar-e-Quaid. However, to preserve localized residential safety the existing traffic intersection near Khudadad Colony will remain operational.
