In a major development for macro-level transport infrastructure tracking, border logistics optimization and national airspace security the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has executed two milestone safety accords. Under the hardware provisions PAA will install a state-of-the-art wind shear alert system at Islamabad International Airport for Rs. 254 million coupled with advanced laboratory diagnostic kits to test aviation radio communications. The meteorological protection grid will become fully operational within six months. Concurrently, to eliminate administrative terminal bottlenecks the authority deployed a new pre departure screening facilitation desk to streamline traveler identity checks alongside Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and immigration officers.
