Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif with a high-level delegation of both the civil and military establishment arrived in the holy city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for a crucial three-day state visit. The visit was a special invitation from the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Upon his arrival at the airport, the Saudi Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz welcomed him with a warm State welcome, followed by Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, and other Diplomatic officers. The visit by Shehbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia is an important development, indicating Islamabad’s continued effort to strengthen the regional security alliance and economic integration of the two countries.
Spiritual Commencement: Performing Umrah at Makkah Mukarramah
Later the PM and his staff made a special trip before the formal diplomatic meeting to the city of Makkah Mukarramah for Umrah. Other members of the group included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
The delegation had the rare privilege of being able to enter the Holy Kaaba. The leadership made special prayers for the social, economic development and internal stability and long-term prosperity of Pakistan while standing within the sacred precincts. They also offered prayers for the unity of the global Muslim Ummah, with special prayers for the establishment of everlasting peace in war-torn regions of the world, Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
High-Stakes Bilateral Agenda with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
The geopolitical essence of the visit is an extensive meeting between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders will have all-round discussions to promote the longstanding brotherly relationship between the two countries into a growing economic partnership based on trade.

Fast-Tracking Saudi Investments: Assessment of the achievements of multi-billion dollar Saudi investment commitments in Pakistan’s energy sector and the landmark Reko Diq mining project.
The SIFC Framework: Briefing the Saudi leadership on the opportunities for safe investments in Pakistan through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in technology, infrastructure, and corporate agriculture under the COAS.
Regional Security Dynamics: High-level exchange of views on the security dynamics in the Middle East and joint counter-terrorism efforts in South Asia.

Spiritual Pilgrimage to Madinah Munawwarah
After the diplomatic meetings in Jeddah, the Prime Minister and his team will go to Madinah Munawwarah. There, they will make their contributions of respect at the Roza-e-Rasool (SAWW) inside Masjid-e-Nabawi and pray for unity of the nation. Diplomatic observers note that the fusion of diplomacy and a pilgrimage of the heart strengthens the Pakistani-Saudi bond which is unique and goes beyond mere diplomacy and is rooted in mutual trust and faith.
