Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar had a high-level telephonic discussion with the Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Jarrah Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah in a significant diplomatic effort towards economic integration and peace in the Gulf region.

The comprehensive review of the bilateral relation between Pakistan and Kuwait and enhancement of multi-lateral cooperation in the field of mutual national interest was the main thrust of the extensive diplomatic talks held on September 7, 2026. This strategic interaction between bilateral communication systems is envisioned to be a more fast-tracked diplomatic process to respond to the macro-economic developments and to change the security paradigm across the Middle East and South Asia.

Expanding Strategic Trade Corridors and Labor Market Frameworks

During the bilateral telephonic session, the two foreign ministers analyzed existing trade indexes to remove manual operational barriers and optimize sovereign financial collaborations. The state representatives synchronized their foreign ministry desks to advance joint projects aligned with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) framework.

The inter-governmental dialogue locked in three core economic tracks:

Sovereign Wealth Investment: Reviewing the technical benchmarks of Kuwaiti infrastructure development funding directed toward Pakistan’s mining, corporate farming, and energy corridors.

Manpower Upgrades and Visa Automation: Streamlining regulatory codes to expand the employment quota for Pakistani skilled human capital—specifically software engineers, data analysts, and medical consultants—within Kuwait’s corporate landscape.

Regional Security Indices: Exchanging macro-prudential assessments regarding maritime trade lane safety in the Arabian Sea and coordinating defensive counter-terrorism intelligence grids.

Direct UNGA Sideline Convention and Future Bilateral Roadmap

Both foreign ministers formally agreed to keep their contacts close and constant in order to ensure the continuation of the momentum created in the course of the talks. One of the key points of the call was the formal engagement in a comprehensive one-on-one bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the next session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The upcoming UNGA convention will serve to audit the implementation speed of the Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission’s trade directives. Sheikh Jarrah Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic stability goals, praising Islamabad’s calculated diplomatic efforts to foster peaceful mediation channels across volatile regional borders.
