President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have made a strong commitment to continue the polio campaign across the country until polio is eradicated from the country. Both leaders in their respective official messages on World Polio Day celebrated on 24th October all over the world urged all the people of Pakistan to take steps towards a polio-free Pakistan at every opportunity.
A National Call to Action for Parents
The country’s highest government officials firmly advised all parents and care takers to ensure that every child under 5 years of age is able to get those two drops of the vaccine during each of the anti-polio campaigns. President Zardari also pointed out the tremendous structural strides Pakistan had made towards polio eradication as the number of active cases has been reduced by 99.8 percent in the years.
One Day, One Focus
