In a strategic move, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department of the Government of Punjab has officially launched the online platform for Premium Number Plates Auction Registration in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). This is a new, online program that lets everyone in the province register, bid and get their preferred vanity and attractive (VIP) registration marks from home. The provincial government’s plan is to move this process into an e-Auction to remove the agents’ mafia, improve revenue and provide a citizen-friendly and transparent platform.
Premium Number Plates Auction Key Schedule
The deadlines and eligibility have been mentioned in official guidelines issued by the Punjab Excise Department for the phase:
Application Closing: Application for the prestigious registration numbers will continue till August 30.
Eligible Vehicles: e-Auction platform is open for all types of vehicles such as private vehicles, motorcycles, heavy bikes, and commercial vehicles.
Access Platforms: Citizens are able to access through the dedicated mobile application called ‘e-Auction’ in the Google Play Store/Apple App Store or through the official PITB web portal.
Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for Punjab Premium Number Plates
To make it as easy as possible to access, PITB has developed a simplified, safe and stepwise process for online bidding and to register:
Build an Online Profile: Click on the e-Auction app or visit the e-Auction website. To register an account, you may use your Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number, mobile number (must be live) and your email ID to receive verification OTPs.
You will be prompted to select vehicle and number; after logging in, click on either Car or Motorcycle. Browse the catalog of available VIP or premium numbers (such as 0001, 786, 1111, 5555). Please choose your preference and enter your vehicle’s Chassis Number.
Generate PSID and Pay Fees: You will get a unique Payment Slip ID (PSID) sent to you through SMS and then pay the fees. The non-refundable processing fee and initial reserve price can be paid through e-Pay Punjab application, your bank mobile application, Internet banking, ATMs.
Join in Live Bidding: Your bidding status will be enabled once the payment is confirmed. During the live-bidding time period, you can compete with the other registered bidders in real time.

The real-time tracking dashboard, which logs every bid in real time, eliminates any manual or human bias from the equation.
