Did Babar Azam Win Any Major Awards?
As Sufiyan becomes the top player, a lot of fans wonder how the legendary Zalmi captain, Babar Azam performed. Despite having to endure the trauma of being fired because of a duck in the last game, Babar Azam was enjoying an absolute run-fest of a season.
He was the leading run-scorer in the tournament to win the Hanif Mohammad Cap and the Batter of the Tournament trophy. Babar had heaped up a mountain of 588 runs in 11 matches with an incredible average of 73.50 and a very violent strike rate of 145.90 including three spectacular centuries.
What Other Individual Honors Were Handed Out?
Not only did the camp of Peshawar Zalmi bring the trophy home; it literally swept the individual awards ceremony!
Wicketkeeper of the Tournament: The winner of the award was Kusal Mendis (Peshawar Zalmi) who earned the award after scoring 550 and taking two dismissals behind the stumps.
Field winner in the tournament: Field winner was Farhan Yousuf (Peshawar Zalmi) who was the winner in the field due to his acrobats in the field which earned him 10 catches.
All-Rounder of the Tournament: This was the only big prize to get into the hands of Zalmi. It was handed over to the captain of Islamabad United, Shadab Khan, who is a 17-run and 17-wicket hitter.
