Punjab education boards have formally raised the registration fee and other fees on students studying matric Classes 9 and 10 in 2026 to 2028 academic session. All nine Punjab divisional boards have aligned this increase citing financial constraints and officially started the matric registration procedure of the new batch.
The New Punjab Matric Registration Fee 2026 Structure
The overall price to be paid by regular enrolment has been given a significant boost under the new pricing model. The total registration cost to pay by parents and students is now Rs. 2,350.
The depreciation of this entire cost is:
Registration Fee: Rs. 1,150
Processing Fee: Rs. 870
Sports Fee: Rs. 300
The students will be able to send their filled registration forms and this normal fee up to the first deadline of June 8, 2026.
Late Deadlines, Subject Changes, and Correction Policies
The boards have offered a late registration buffer to take care of those who may not be able to meet the first window. Students who fail to submit their forms before June 8 may still be registered until June 23 by paying an extra penalty of late fee of Rs. 600.
In addition, the boards have revised the fees of different administrative services:
Correction of Data: In case of a student requiring to make corrections on personal data, it will incur a fee of Rs. 750 until October 31. The fee is increased to Rs. after this deadline. 1,250.
Change of subjects: It is allowed to change the selected subjects till October 31 with a fee of Rs. 2,400. This cost increases to Rs. post-deadline. 2,900.
Migration Fee: The charges imposed on students who transfer between education jurisdictions have been pegged at a high price of Rs. 4,800.
Required Documentation and Public Reaction
Students must provide a valid B-Form and a copy of the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) of their father in order to complete the enrollment to the 2026-2028 session.
Although the boards are using the economic realities to support the spike, the move has not been well received by the public. The increasing prices have been the subject of public criticism by a large number of teachers and parents. Some say that the abrupt rise may impose an unbearable and extra financial burden on low-income households in an attempt to educate their children.
Students will be able to create automated challans through their respective board portals, i.e., the BISE Lahore Portal or the BISE Rawalpindi Portal to process payments.
